#STORY HOLLYWOOD In 1919 Salvatore Ferragamo moves to Santa Barbara, California, and opens a shop for custom-made shoes and repairs. It soon catches the eye of some of Hollywood's elite and he quickly becomes known as the "shoemaker to the stars." IT MUST BE HOLLYWOOD! Ferragamo's Hollywood Bootshop became famous when the American Film Company entrusts him with the production of cowboy boots for historic Western films. His fame spread rapidly thanks to many of his first clients, such as Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Pola Negri and Rodolfo Valentino. SHOEMAKER AND FRIEND TO THE STARS Not only was Ferragamo a Shoemaker to the stars - but also a friend. He understood each of his clients' specific needs, and adapted the shoe accordingly.
