This year’s LA Fire Department junior lifeguards is the first group to receive an integrated science curriculum in their program. Approximately 4,250 participants received their own copy of the “Pacific Coast Sea Shores” science guide. According to publisher Dawn N. Ericson, “This may contribute to the Junior Lifeguard as a year-round, ongoing program that encourage[s] a lifetime commitment towards ocean stewardship.” The program aligns with the state’s standards for earth science and is funded through the City of Malibu’s General Grant Program and other donations. #TheMalibuTimes #Destinations 🌎
